Soong appointed District Court judge

HONOLULU — Michael Soong has been appointed to the District Court of the Fifth Circuit by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald to fill an upcoming vacancy.

He will replace Judge Trudy Senda, who will retire in December.

Soong served as prosecuting attorney for the County of Kauai from 1996-2004, and has been in private practice since then. Soong is employed at the Law Office of Michael K. Soong and is a graduate of the Southwestern University School of Law. He was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 1986.
