Kawaihau Community Little League is seeking volunteers to fill its board for the 2016-17 season.
“Every year, we have to do a new board. So, that’s what it is,” said Kawaihau president Jason Nagahisa. “Every year, every board position is up. It’s pretty much for anyone who wants to try it.”
The local youth baseball league will hold the board election on Sept. 23 at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapaa — at the pavilion nearby the tennis courts.
“If chosen on the board, it would be the day-to-day operation of the league, with all the ages of our kids. … It’s pretty much a year-round thing,” Nagahisa said of the board members’ responsibilities.
About 10 board positions are expected to be filled, Nagahisa said. Those interested to volunteer will need to submit applications, which will be provided by Nagahisa and others from the league.
Prior experience is not necessary, he added.
