LIHUE — The Kauai Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominees for an individual or a group who has demonstrated the meaning of Mea Ho‘omana‘o, a term that refers to something that causes a person to remember.
Nominations for a person or group are due by Wednesday at the chamber office at 4268-H Rice St. in Lihue.
The chamber will recognize the recipient of the award at the third quarter membership meeting on Sept. 27 at the Smith’s Tropical Paradise Luau.
Past honorees include Bryan Baptiste, Dickie Chang and Tom Shigemoto.
The Mea Ho‘omana‘o program, which was a dream of the late Mayor Bryan Baptiste, is to remind residents the importance of respect, civility and aloha during interactions with others.
