Happy birthday to Rose Manago of the Agency on Elderly Affairs who had her cubicle decorated by the office Monday! Rose was out hustling more goodies for the Memory Keepers’ garage sale (Aug. 20 at the Lihue Neighborhood Center from 8 a.m. to noon) that benefits the Alzheimer’s Walk.
Patricia Gonsalves said the Memory Keepers scored when Lorna Santos of Lawai Cannery Self Storage turned over two new (unused!) beds, including a custom-made king-sized wooden bed valued at $10,000. She is taking bids on this, starting at $1,500 and wants to have to sold before Aug. 20 so she doesn’t have to bring it to the garage sale.
Sharon Lasker (she was at the Chamber and Wilcox Health’s “Creating a Healthier Hawaii,” Tuesday) said the Regency at Puakea is also having a rummage sale to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Stu Burley and Lisa Allison Murphy were trying to figure out how to juggle lunch and dinner at the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort, and Chef Toto Santos and her crew was scrambling to keep up with the salads (it was a healthy lunch).
