Olivia Malafu pocketed a dozen points to lead the Dream Team to a 19-12 edge over the Ao‘uka Rebels during the championship games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
The Dream Team victory gives the girls the Division 4 championship with the Rebels who got nine points from Jaley Medeiros, sitting in the runner-up spot, bringing an end to the summer basketball league.
Kaulupono, Division 3 girls laid claim to that crown with a 42-18 win over the Kauai Lynx behind the torrid shooting of Kierstin Gummerus who netted 15 points and Kaye Serapio adding 14 points. Amalaya Sales and Jessica Cezar topped the Kauai Lynx effort on six, and four points, respectively.
On the boys’ floor, Kapaa peeled off a 38-32 win over the Supersonics for the Division 4 title. Keaka Kauhane and Mone Malafu topped the Kapaa scoring with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Raysen Jaequio topped the Supersonics’ effecto with 14 points.
Hanakila rolled over Kapaa, 56-39 to clinch the Division 4 boys title behind 17 points from Keiden Boro, 13 marks from Chanson Hawelu-Inanod, and a dozen points from Waika Rogers.
In a match which was not contested, Kaulupono Blue claimed the Division 1 girls title with the Kamikaze taking runner-up honors.
