Sea Scouts Commodore Larry Richardson said the scouts just got back Wednesday from a long inter-island cruise.
Friday, the Sea Scouts were on hand to present the colors during the Coast Guard Change of Command ceremonies where Seth Carter (mahalo for your service, and best of luck in Alaska!) is leaving for a post in Alaska and Michael Winiarski comes in as the Officer in Charge at Coast Guard Station Kauai.
Kauai Fire Chief Robert Westerman (he was at the Draft Environmental Assessment meeting for the Adolescent Treatment and Healing Center Thursday night, too) represented Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. (nope, no Kaleo Carvalho as protocol officer this time), and a lot of the Kauai Fire Department leadership was on hand (they do multi-agency operations with the Coast Guard).
Craig Sasada was going crazy (did Luke Dela Pena win the putting contest? He had an ace on No. 3) with the Koloa Plantation Days putting contest, but was able to have a cart parked strategically.
OK, time to go see how the golf balls drop at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
