Good luck to na opio of Hula Halau Na Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala as they venture to the 41st annual Queen Liliu‘okalani Keiki Hula Competition on Oahu. Good luck to Hallie Frasco and Kiwa‘a Hermosura on their Miss and Master Keiki Hula (remember when Luke Hunadi won?), Thursday night.
Kumu Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin and Kahu Jade Waiale‘ale Battad hosted the halau’s hi‘u wai, Sunday before an appreciative audience of the performers’ parents.
Kudos to Josie Pablo and the residents of the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital for taking the time out to remember Samuel Mahelona’s birthday (he’s four years younger than Chieko Matsumoto!) and reflect on how far the hospital has come.
Ric Cox of Aloha Angels found “angels” for teachers at the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School, Tuesday during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Luncheon (Mark Perriello said the ice cream bar was Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Bauduoin’s idea) at the Sheraton Kauai Resort. Ric had his halo so it was easy.
OK, time to go check out Glenn Mickens (how’s he doing the council meeting and the MLB Players clinic?) and the aspiring baseball players at Isenberg Park.
