Gary Peters of Maryland said Bethany Hamilton was in the water with Under Armour surfer and World Surf League No. 32 ranked Brianna Cope Friday at the PK’s Break.
Unfortunately, Bethany left, but Brianna was still catching her share of rides while waiting for Kalani Vierra and Krystl Apeles to take the water for practice of their routines in preparation for defending their world tandem surfing championships.
Gary said he was opposite Jack Leonard of Kauai Gymnastics Academy (that’s where Kalani and Krystl worked on their dry land training) while they were growing up. He was visiting last year when he and Jessie Castro (he’s on vacation on the Mainland) were doing the PK’s surf meet.
Congratulations to Adrian Bulosan and Wes Perreira on their now Molokoa Food Company lunchwagon (Kenny Ishii said they had really good sandwiches) that made its first appearance at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class fundraiser (Kevin Matsunaga said he thinks he put in their very first order).
Rosemary Canales was helping Cynthia Edralin sell MS Cookbooks (really good recipes) as a fundraiser for the next MS Walk. Rosemary said she’s got MS and has a hard time walking, but can still sell cookbooks to help the cause.
