The Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair came early this year as Anita Kaneakua had an early production of her energy bars to share (some of the TeMana Rose people scored some) during the Friday appearance of the visiting Tahitian delegation.
The Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair came early this year as Anita Kaneakua had an early production of her energy bars to share (some of the TeMana Rose people scored some) during the Friday appearance of the visiting Tahitian delegation. The audience was even treated to a solo performance from Tati Denis-McRight of Te Mana Rose, the winner of last year’s Heiva i Kauai, and Tiffany Ki‘ilau from Kona on the Big Island.
You had to be quick to catch Randy Wichman who was everywhere doing everything, and Bev Pang was going to check out the weaving techniques, but settled for performances by the Tahitians and Marquesans. Chantal Zarbaugh was another fast person, but Friday was nothing compared to next week when they prepare (1,700 bags of school supplies!) for the Back to School Bash on Saturday.
Kudos to Sherri Sanchez Holcomb of the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club for spearheading the Charity Craft Fair where Annette Hashimoto and Maddie Jimenez had recovered enough from the Kauai Hospice Concert in the Sky, and were raring to go. Gary Fujioka got moved from the location in front of Alexander’s Day Spa to the base of the escalator and was going crazy with his mgambo (he can tell the difference between those grown in the west and those from the east) and wiliwili seed items.
