The Kauai Community Market, a partnership between the Kauai County Farm Bureau and the Kauai Community College is a place to get farm-based products from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, market coordinator, said there are two goals for the market — to be a gathering place, and a place where the community, students, and farmers can talk story.
“You mean, we’re doing this and don’t know it?” said Elvrine Chow of Heavenly Haku. “We meet Under the Tent. If only these fake walls could talk; we have the shoppers.”
The shoppers are there, we could use more vendors, said Laurie Ho of the Kauai County Farm Bureau.
Application forms and guidelines for vendors are available at the market information tent.
“The guidelines are pretty simple,” McFerrin-Warrack said. “And if the product doesn’t quite fit, don’t worry, we coach.”
