Kudos to Ed Kawamura and all the people (Aida Cruz came up with “extra” beverages from a Kauai Veterans Center event) who put together the Fourth of July veterans roundup. Kudos, too, to Aida for keeping the parking lot open for veterans and their families to watch the Kauai Hospice Concert in the Sky fireworks.
Miss Kauai Veteran Athena Abadilla made Phoebe Gonzalez’s day when she brought over her homecoming tiara to pin on Phoebe’s head. Hm-m, maybe she can be Miss Fourth of July? Bertram Almeida recovered from all that baggage duty (the Tahitians are here!) to stop in on the roundup and Leland Nishek dropped in for a quick hello before heading off to Fourth of July roping.
Jim Jung had extra flags to distribute and Jeffery Pears was able to get him a ticket to the Kauai Hospice to distribute the flags.
Judy Webb said she’ll have the artisan fair on Saturday at the Poipu Beach (look for the big tents!) from 9 a.m. and featuring Joe’s Food Wagon.
