For two nights — on July 7 and 8 — Center for Spiritual Living Kauai in Kapaa will be transformed into a nightclub cabaret when CSL Spiritual Directors Rita Andriello and Patrick Feren present “Love Notes Cabaret: A Musical Journey of the Heart.”
The husband and wife team will take audiences on a mystical, musical love journey of their life together through a variety of songs and genres — including Broadway, standards and pop — along with playful banter to create an entertaining and enlightening evening of fun, laughter and joy.
“Our mission in life has always been to elevate consciousness and inspire,” said Feren, who along with Andriello, has a 20-year background in theater, music and production in Los Angeles. “While we pursued our theatrical careers, we studied simultaneously the works of the great mystics and spiritual teachers of New Thought.”
As their studies progressed, it soon became obvious that behind all their theatrical talents there was a creative force pushing them to expand their consciousness in an even bigger way.
“We realized that we could combine our talents — singing, acting, writing, teaching, directing, and producing with our spirituality,” Andriello said. “When the ministerial path called us to Kauai three years ago, we followed it.”
Live accompaniment at the cabaret will be provided by the husband and wife team of Michael and Carrie Fox. CSL Musical Director Carrie Fox will be on piano, with Michael, who serves as production manager, on drums, flute and percussion. In addition to the live cabaret performance, audience members will also enjoy assorted pupus and two drinks, which are included in the ticket price.
“We are excited and honored to bring our talents together and share the adventures, challenges and fun of our true-love story through the songs we love in celebration of CSL Kauai’s third anniversary,” said Andriello, who noted that the cabaret is part of the organization’s annual fundraising efforts for outreach as well as to expand the center’s building fund and youth program.
Tickets are $45 and reservations are required. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.; the show starts at 7 p.m. on both Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8. CSL Kauai is at 4-1579 Kuhio Highway in the East Kauai Professional Building, Suite 101.
