LIHUE — The Hope Riding On exhibit from the Hiroshima Peace Museum visited Kauai during The Bridge of Peace festival Saturday at the Happiness Planting Center in Lihue.
The exhibit formed the centerpiece of the festival which drew from the Japanese culture and the host culture of Hawaii to give viewers a greater sense of understanding of each culture and strengthen the bridge of peace.
The exhibit, shown here following a tour of New York City comes on the heels of President Barack Obama’s historic visit to Hiroshima and is an effort to raise true peace awareness and consciousness to the world and future generations about the disastrous effects of the atom bomb on humanity.
