Albert G. Moe
Albert G. Moe, formerly of Kalaheo passed away at the age of 82, at the State Veterans Home in Hilo on June 6, 2016, following a long illness. Born in Shanghai, China, Al graduated from Andover Academy and UC Berkley and then embarked on a 29 year career in the U.S Navy. He retired with the rank of Commander in 1980 and then pursued a career in consulting.
Al is preceded in death by his first wife, Charleen Moe and parents, Albert and Margaret Moe. He is survived by his wife, Edie Moe of Omao; son, Albert W. Moe of Pahoa; daughter, Cathryn Moe of Virginia and sister, Barbara Moe of Seattle; as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, where both of his parents are interred.
A memorial service will be held at Koloa Union Church on Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. Aloha attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Koloa Union Church or the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Al’s memory, both entities to which he was extremely devoted.
