Carol Dean Bain
Carol Dean Bain passed away peacefully in Queen’s Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, on Monday, May 16, 2016, at the age of 64. She was born Oct. 2, 1951, in Stuttgart, Germany. Bain was a KIUC Board member, former Kauai Community College professor, community activist, grant writer and media producer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Iola and Paul Bain.
Bain is survived by her husband, Edward Coll, of Kauai; sisters, Paula Kneeskern of El Paso, TX, Claudia Tubbs of Clarksville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Kauai Veterans Center, 3215 Kapule Highway, Lihue, HI 96766. The family requests casual attire and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Malie Foundation, P.O. Box 13, Kapaa, HI 96746.
