Michael Allen Mills
Michael Allen Mills of Kilauea passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2016, at the age of 62. He was born in Illinois on June 17, 1953, and was a well-known avid golfer at Wailua Golf Course for many years.
Michael is survived by his longtime Sweetheart, Angela Smallidge of Kilauea; daughter, Tracy Mills and her son, Anthony Bicknell; and son, Michael P. Mills, all of Arizona; brothers, Robert (Ruby) Mills and J.R. (Ginny) Mills; sister, Verna Jones all of Illinois; his late brother Paul’s widow, Joy Mills of Lihue; Angela’s children, Roseann Rush, Lenore Maggs, Gregory Smallidge, Kathryn McCormack, Jeffery Austin and their families; numerous nieces and nephews.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Mills family with arrangements.
John Allan Lustman
John Allan Lustman, was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away at the age of 86 on May 26, 2016, at Garden Isle Health Care. He was retired and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea.
Preceded in death by his twin brother, Raymond W. Lustman; and parents, John and Alessandra Lustman; he is survived by his daughter, Anita L. Lustman of Omao; granddaughter, Renee Seamster of Omao; and sister, Lillian Buffone of Millbury, Massachusetts.
Graveside services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Aloha attire is suggested.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, on memory of John.
A memorial service will be held at the Koloa Union Church at a later date.

Walter M. Norton
Walter M. Norton of Harpswell died Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Harpswell, May 19, 1925, he was the fourth son of George Edward and Hattie Cheney Merriman Norton.
Enlisting in the U.S. Army Air force in 1943, he served for 2 years as a Navigator. In 1952, he married, Helen P. Appell of York, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the University of Maine as a Civil Engineer in 1950 and received an MA in Commercial Insurance from the Wharton School of Finance, Philadelphia, in 1975.
Walter owned and operated the Norton Insurance Agency / Norton Financial for over 20 years and was President of Casco Cable, a subsidiary of Susquehanna Communications. He was a member of the Elijah Kellogg Church in Harpswell and a past president of the Brunswick Rotary Club.
Walter, a life long resident of Harpswell, cared deeply about Harpswell , the environment, loved to garden, and enjoyed traveling to exotic places.
He is survived by his wife, Helen A Norton of Harpswell; daughters, Helen Coon and her husband, John, of Brunswick. Nena M. Norton of Harpswell and Sandra N Davis of Topsham, brother, Andrew A. of Brunswick and wife Cheryl; two sisters, Hannah N. Dring of Harpswell and Augusta Duncan of Lynn, MA; along with five grandchildren, Hannah, Aryn and Hallie Coon of Brunswick and Craig Davis and Nathan Norton of Topsham, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, George Edward Norton, Jr., Charles Edwin Norton, and Warren Victor Norton.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. July 23, 2016, at their home, 126 Skassen Lane, in Harpswell for family and friends

Clifton Masato Kadota
Clifton Masato Kadota of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 28, 2016, at the age of 91. He was born and raised on Kauai, then moved to the mainland after Army service in WWII. There, he pursued a welding career with notable work on military submarines and space projects. In 1987, Clifton retired back to Kapaa with his wife, Cora (deceased 2014).
Clifton is survived by siblings, Hideko and Katsuyoshi of Lihue; children, Linda of Schaumberg, IL and Richard of Coronado, California; grandchildren, Annie of Rancho Santa Fe, California, and Paul of Chicago, IL.
Donations are suggested to All Saints’ Espicopal Church.
Private services were held.

Randy Smith
Randy Smith, known by many as the corn man of Kilauea, left his fields on Kuawa Road on May 16, 2016. Born in California on Feb. 4, 1950.
Randy is survived by his mother, Erma; sisters, Barbara and Carol, brother-in-law, David; niece, Bonnie and nephew, Scott. As well, as his loyal four legged companion, Luigi Smith, fondly known as Louie. Family requests donations be made to Kauai Humane Society in Memory of Randall Smith.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Christ Memorial Church beginning at 10 a.m.

Kiyoko Shimokawa
Mrs. Kiyoko Shimokawa, 94, of Honolulu, died on May 18, 2016, at Palolo Chinese Home; formerly of Hanapepe, Kauai.
She was born in Koloa, Kauai, on March 2, 1922, and was a retired pantry worker for Sheraton Poipu and a retired co-owner of OK Service Station.
She is survived by her daughters, Lucille H. Kireto, Gail K. Shimokawa and Lori L. Shimokawa-Caporus; brother, Thomas Koga (Nancy); brother, Henry Koga (Jean); sister, Yoshiko Okiura, and Helen Oyama and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.
Alvin S. Perreira
Alvin S. Perreira of Kalaheo, passed away on May 21, 2016, in Lihue. Born on Dec. 10, 1927, he was a Sugar Plantation worker for McBryde Sugar.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Ventura); parents, Joseph and Elvira Perreira; brothers, Tony, Manuel, and George; and sisters, Angie and Francis.
Alvin is survived by his daughters, Carole (Ray) Reynon of Honoka’a, Judy (Thomas) Batis of Kekaha, and Heidi (Daniel) Perreira-Degracia of Kalaheo; gandchildren, Dawne Basconcillo, Thomas “TJ” Batis, Leah Reynon, Kolomana (Brandon) Jacintho, Kanawai Perreira Hose, Kierien Jacintho, Dream Corr-Rita, and Harmony Corr-Rita; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with services to follow at 10:30 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests no flowers.

Randall Kawada
Randall Kawada, born on Sept. 1, 1959, passed away at the age of 56 on May 31, 2016, at Wilcox.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Kawada.
Randall is survived by his girlfriend, Debbie Lovett of Wailua; father, Masami Kawada of Wailua houselots; brothers, Clayton (Aurora) Kawada of Wailua, and Wilbert (Sun-u) Kawada of California; sister, Sachiko (Ichiro) Nakamoto of Japan; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on June 11, 2016, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with services to start at 10:30 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Lester Tokio Yoshimura
Lester Tokio Yoshimura, a retired veteran of Lihue, Hawaii, was born on May 1, 1921, and passed away on May 22, 2016.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sadako K. Yoshimura; and survived by his son, Michael (Joyce) Yoshimura of San Luis Obispo, California; daughter, Cynthia (Tom) Matsuoka of Lihue, Hawaii; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 25, 2016, at Lihue Hongwanji Mission.
