Sometimes, you get lucky when Marjorie Gorai was able to get a Salvation Army Donut Day doughnut while her husband Clifford indulged in a whole bunch of Po’s Kitchen (thank heaven the Donut Day was early — there were still sushi left) food.
Clifford used to live here while working with Hawaiian Telcom and moved to Honolulu after getting married. He and his wife were on the overnight cruise ship when she heard about the Donut Day and was hoping it was close to where Clifford was going to get his food.
Mikylah Labanon was at the doughnut shop with her brothers Zaimana and Zion, and is getting excited about the Sunday hoike with Na Hula O Kaohikukapulani and Kumu Hula Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza (she was also at the Waimea High School graduation congratulating her grandson Kameamakamae Palama Alquiza on his graduation) at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa. Doors open at 3 p.m. with the craft fair and food stuffs with the hula (Mikylah is going to be performing, too) starting later in the day.
OK, time to go check out the Rotary Club of Kapaa’s Taste of Hawaii at Smith’s Tropical Paradise.
