Comedian Augie Tulba said the most rewarding part about being on stage is helping people forget the stresses of everyday life.
“It’s crazy how much we afect people’s lives. I’ve heard stories about people coming into the show who are going through things, and they just forget about problems and laugh,” he said.
After a very successful “Laugh Under The Stars” tour raising money for BRAVE Hawaii, and celebrating 25 years of doing comedy with sold out shows statewide, Augie T announces the “Chance ‘Em Tour” with Frank De Lima, Mel Cabang, and Augie T presented by Primo, Hawaii’s Original Beer.
After having over 6,000 people from across Hawaii see their shows in 2015 Augie T decided it was time for round two.
“We had so much fun last time we toured together, we are doing it again to support BRAVE Hawaii, going into schools to keep our youth respectful and full of aloha,” he said.
The tour featuring some of the state’s top comedians is scheduled on Kauai June 4. It was originally slated to include the legendary Andy Bumatai, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Per his request, the show will go on to make thousands of people across Hawaii laugh — as has been Bumatai’s passion for nearly four decades.
“Proceeds will help Andy, who has been helping people laugh for 20 years, go ahead and do it. Something he would have loved to be a part of. Hopefully, after he beats cancer, we’ll do the tour with everyone,” Tulba said.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at Aqua Kauai Beach Resort. General admission tickets are $20 and $40 for VIP (with autographed photos, a special meet-and-greet, and Primo merchandise).
Tickets can be purchased at Kmart in Lihue.
