Alfonso Mendoza Sr.
Alfonso Mendoza Sr. of Kekaha, born on Oct. 22, 1944 in BRGY #30 Cardaratan, Bacarra Ilocos Norte, Philippines, passed away at the age of 71 on May 9, 2016 at KVMH.
He is survived by his wife, Julita Daligcon Mendoza; his two sons, Alex (Kaori) Mendoza in Colorado and Alfonso (Rochelle) Mendoza Jr. of Kekaha; his two daughters, Almarie (Tobin) Teruya in Colorado and Rosie (Eric) Factora in Honolulu; his five grandchildren; his two brothers-in-law, Jaime (Lovelyn) Yadao and Joven (Colleen) Bautista; his half-sister, Florencia Balualua of Kaumakani; his two sisters-in-law, Judy (Nirun Ruanjai) Yadao of Kekaha and Betty Mendoza in California; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at noon with services at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Juan ‘Johnny’ Francisco
Juan “Johnny” Francisco of Hanapepe, Kauai passed away on April 13, 2016, at the age of 88. Born on March 26, 1928 in Waimea, Kauai, he was a retired painter with Olokele Sugar Company and an ILWU representative for many years.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Filomena Cristobal Francisco; parents, Benito and Severina Francisco; sisters, Anacleta Tagatac, Maria Alquiza, Dolores Seguritan, Milesia Quinata, and Caridad Eichelberger; brothers, Marcelino and Conrado Francisco.
Juan is survived by: his sons, Randall and Reubin (Cynthia) Francisco; daughter, Faye (Antonio) Cawagas; grandchildren, Brenton (Shelsey) Francisco and Antonio, Leah and Cara Cawagas; great grandchildren, Maya and Kyra Galdeira, and Matthew Carrero; sister, Olivia Gubaton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai from 3:30 – 6 p.m. Visitation will be from 3:30 – 4:15 p.m. with services to follow.

Joseph C. G. Lum
Joseph C. G. Lum of Kapaa passed away in Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on May 12, 2016, at the age of 78. He was born in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii on January 24, 1938, and worked for Kauai Surf in Housekeeping.
Joseph is survived by two brothers, Benjamin Lum (Mona), Raymond Lum (Jesse); three sisters, Christina Ikeda, Lydia Au, Ada Conching, Elizabeth Takahashi (George); hanai family, Kaleiohi Family; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family requests no monetary donation but graciously accepts flowers.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Lum family with arrangements.
