POIPU — Caroline Manera Texeira, the Kauai Chamber of Commerce executive vice president and COO, said the 135 golfers who turned out Sunday made up the largest field the Chamber has had in the 13 years it has hosted the scholarship golf tournament.
Mark Perriello, the Kauai Chamber president and CEO, hoisted the perpetual trophy high so the golfers could see what was at stake while having fun and fueling the Kauai Chamber scholarship coffers.
The 13th annual Kauai Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament was sponsored by the Kukui‘ula Development Co., Alexander & Baldwin, Y. Hata & Co. and Chef Zone with Russell Hata flying in from Honolulu to lead one of his corporate teams on the course.
Tournament play included individual low net for both men’s and women’s flight and the Corporate Challenge Competition, with a special prize for the golfer finishing in 13th place.
Additionally, tournament play was enhanced with numerous other opportunities for prizes, including a hole-in-one on all par 3 holes, and more.
