Kauai Chorale will perform two concerts this weekend.
They will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center and at 5 p.m. Sunday at the St. Regis Princeville Resort.
The 78-member choir directed by Lois Ricciardi will be joined by Marty Leonard on percussion, Joan Yamaguchi on oboe, Jane Albrecht on cello, Taylor, Daniel and Katherine Welch on strings and Mike Odo on bass guitar. Virginia Shepherd is the accompanist.
“The Kauai Chorale Spring Concert celebrates the eternity of music by performing songs that reflect the music of life in its many expressions,” said a press release.
Some of the songs that will be performed include “A Jubilant Song,” based on Walt Whitman’s “A Song of Joys,” “Sway,” a Latin American dance song, the gospel song “Joyful Joyful” from the movie “Sister Act,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
