HANALEI — Kauai Artist David LaCock will be displaying many of his pieces tonight at The General Store of Hanalei for the first time in 43 years.
The art opening meet and greet will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and guests will be able to listen to LaCock share stories of the images and imaginations of his life’s painted creations.
Terri Ewton said LaCock, who is a guest artist in her home for the month of May, has been painting upstairs and offering keiki classes and adult paint sessions.
LaCock spent much of his childhood growing up in Taylor Camp during the 70s, which has inspired a lot of his art adding richness and psychedelic motion to his form, a news release said.
“But the true element that makes David’s work so full of beauty and heart is his authentic nature to love and care for the land and his family,” the release said. “He has raised seven of his children at home in Haena, where most of them were conceived and born.”
