KAPAA — Kapaa High School, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation boys volleyball champions, will open its bid for the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II boys volleyball state championship as the No. 4 seed.
The HHSAA announcement on Sunday means the Warriors will take the floor Wednesday against the Farrington Governors, starting at 7 p.m. at the Farrington High School gym on Oahu.
Hawaii Baptist Academy gets the nod as the top seed for Division II and faces Pahoa of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, also on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Farrington High School. The winner of that match squares off against the winner of the Kapaa and Farrington contest on Thursday.
Molokai High School is the No. 2 seed and will square off against Kaimuki High School Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Iolani High School, and Konawaena of the BIIF gets the No. 3 seed, meeting Damien High School in the 7 p.m. game at Iolani.
Punahou gets the top seed for Division I followed by Moanalua High School as the No. 2 seed. Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii is the No. 3 seed and King Kekaulike gets the No. 4 seed.
The state championships for both Division I and Division II will play Saturday at the Neal Blaisdell Center on Oahu.
