POIPU — The Shops at Kukuiula presented a check for $2,001.76 to Koloa Elementary School on Wednesday, and in return, the shopping center received a preview of the school’s May Day programming.
The funds represent proceeds from the special holiday bags created by the students at Koloa School and sold by select merchants of The Shops at Kukuiula during the 2015 holiday season.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the Koloa Elementary School, and our merchants’ efforts to support the education of our community,” said Helaine Perel, the real estate manager at The Shops at Kukuiula.
Funds raised through gift bag sales will be applied toward after-school clubs that provide activities such as art, cooking and media production for Koloa Elementary students.
