Almost everyone had a memory of the hotel from the days before it became a Hilton resort, including Lady Ipo Kahaunaele Ferreira, who said she got her start in entertainment there. Lady Ipo officiated at the ceremonies and you’ve got to stand next to Kaleo Carvalho for a different perspective of the doxology.
Russell Hata from Y.Hata & Co. had a few of his executives there, and zipped off to the Spring Food Show (Marlo Lewis-Medeiros was thrilled to be able to attend because Young Brothers ships in a lot of the products…Newton Young was getting orders for that rice you don’t need to wash).
Kudos to the Lihue Airport crash fire and rescue chief Don Ouderkirk on a huge disaster simulation exercise that involved a lot of different first responder agencies, including Janis Kimata from the Pacific Missile Range Facility fire and crash crew.
Kauai Community College nursing classes were joined by the health academies of Kauai and Waimea high schools.
