Phil Worwa had a Purple Rain to go with his purple shirt Thursday during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at the new Aqua Kauai Shores (they opened in December).
Phil said the Purple Rain was the Lava Lava Okole Maluna special in tribute to Prince. Jaine “Hitch” Hitchcock said her purple is Purple Haze from Jimi Hendrix … so much for being from Minneapolis.
Kudos to the Chamber crew of Mark Perriello, Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Baudouin on a great event — even Russell Hata (mahalo for sponsoring the Military Affairs lunch at Shenannigan’s at the Pacific Missile Range Facility) was having fun videoing Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. on his cell phone, and congratulations to all the SBA award winners!
Congratulations to Mabel Hashisaka and her whole Kauai Kookie ohana on receiving the District Director’s award from all the entries, said Jane Sawyer (she’s doing really well with the broken wing), and more congratulations to the Hashisaka ohana on the addition of Gail Shigematsu as the Kauai Kookie general manager (mahalo to Barbara Bennett for the announcement). Mabel told Gail to make sure they don’t run out of kale because “it’s good for you.”
