POIPU — Sheraton Kauai Resort is calling for entries from Kauai-based nonprofits to its first charity lei-making contest April 30 in advance of Lei Day celebrations.
The winning lei will receive July proceeds from the resort’s ongoing fundraising program, Table 53. Along with a panel of judges, Sheraton Kauai guests and associates will have the opportunity to cast their votes from 3 to 5 p.m. The winner will be announced at RumFire Poipu Beach at 5:15 that evening.
Held in the resort’s RumFire Poipu Beach, the Table 53 program donates net proceeds for food and beverage to a different local charity each month. Launched in October 2012, the program has raised over $135,000.
An entry form must be completed and submitted to the resort by April 27. The entry form is available at www.rumfirekauai.com/overview/table53.
