After lifting 710 pounds (her goal was 800 pounds) at the Kauai Muscle and Fitness tournament, lifting all those goodies at the Lawai Cannery Self Storage was no problem for Alison Katahira.
The garage sale benefited the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Ann Wooten was juggling between the county’s team and the American Cancer booth where Patti Ornellas got the help of “perennial” volunteers Joni Ito and her children, Sydney and Caleb.
Coach Neil Pigao said there were only 14 vendors, but the chicken hekka ran out real quick (and what was Keoki’s Paradise making?). Charmaine Simao was buried in the hall, but that was good for her Christmas (Lights on Rice parade coming up, Dec. 2!) Halloween sale with all the lights.
More Relay for Life activities are on tap when David Murray hosts the All Saints’ Saturday Market with all its vendors, crafters, and a big rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the All Saints’ Gym in Waipouli. The emphasis is on growing so check them out.
