A free pickleball clinic is scheduled Sunday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Scott Moore, reigning national senior pickleball champion in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, will be on Kauai offering a clinic from 10 a.m. to noon.
Moore leads free clinics around the world and was very instrumental in getting pickleball started in Japan.
Moore describes himself a racket and paddle sport junkie. He is competitive in ping pong, tennis, squash, badminton, racquetball and pickleball.
In 2015, Moore earned gold medals at the USAPA National’s VII in senior open singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. In the same year, he also took silver in 5.0 men’s singles at the Fall Brawel, gold in all three Legends events at the 2015 Tournament of Champions “triple crown,” a gold medal in open doubles at the Tournament for Heroes, gold medals in the 50-plus doubles and senior mixed at the Southern California Classic, gold in open singles and doubles at the Brigham Memorial, and more.
