Phil Worwa just added to the excitement of Demo Day at Puakea Golf Course and the Kauai High School boys golf team readying for the opening round of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf season.
Phil said he was doing a demo of disc golf to go along with the Demo Day and was readying for a full 18 holes in the afternoon.
He’s not the only one who’s excited as Jack Hodges of the US Pickleball Association is anticipating the first state pickleball tournament starting this Friday (they do a potluck for all the 100-plus players Thursday) at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Kudos to Leanna Thesken on a great Threads for Teens event! Kudos, too, to her volunteers (Diane Melchor of Macy’s is already planning to March for Babies and Mary Lu Kelley of PATCH was super-thrilled her child provider candidate agreed to participate in the event). Marlene Leary of the parents support group said the event was so good it would have soared as a Senior Project.
Kudos, too, to Ed Robinson and all the East Kauai Lions Club on a great (and ono!) pancake breakfast (Sharron Weber was busy delivering pineapple to the First Hawaiian Bank group).
