Charlene Sadie Kananimauloa Yamamoto
Charlene Sadie Kananimauloa Yamamoto of Kekaha passed away at the age of 65 on Feb. 1, 2016, at home. Born on Sept. 14, 1950, in Honolulu, she was a retired outreach worker with Ho’ola Lahui Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Mason Yamamoto, Martin Yamamoto and Dexter Kaido Yamamoto Jr.; parents, Benjamin Naka’ahiki Sr. and Esther Naka’ahiki; brothers, Garrick Naka’ahiki and Marvin Naka’ahiki; and brother-in-law, Kevin Iwai.
Char is survived by her husband, Dexter Kaido Yamamoto; daughter, Dayla (Palani) Camacho of Kekaha; two grandchildren, Shelbri-Ann Cosier and Charli Camacho; brothers, Thomas (Alice) Baptista of Waimea, Benjamin Naka’ahiki Jr. of Kekaha, Brenn (Eileen) Naka’ahiki of Kekaha, Joseph (Nani) Naka’ahiki of Kekaha, and Clyson (Hoku) Naka’ahiki of Hanapepe; sisters, Pili Iwai of Waimea, Ku’ulei (Burt) Vidinha of Kekaha, Trudi (Lee) Contrades of Kekaha, and Elena (Todd) Naka’ahiki of Eleele; sister-in-law, Oriente Naka’ahiki of Eleele; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Feb. 27, 2016, at the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints, Kekaha Ward. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services at 11 a.m., followed by urn burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
