LIHUE — Two Kauai beaches are on a newly released TripAdvisor list that named seven Hawaii beaches as some of the best vacation spots in the country for 2016.
Poipu Beach Park was number 13 and Hanalei Beach was number 24.
The highest-ranked Hawaii beach was Maui’s Waianapanapa State Park at No. 5. Other state beaches on the list Maniniowali Beach on the Big Island and Oahu’s Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.
The travel website operator ranked Hawaii fourth overall for the most popular state or region for a beach getaway. The top beach activities included relaxing, swimming and snorkeling.
Florida took the top spots for best beach and most popular state for a beach vacation.
The list was compiled using traveler reviews and ratings over a one-year period.
