Don’t look at the score! It doesn’t reflect the good play (especially on defense) that was on the field starting with the football-style kickoff. Congratulations to both Kauai JV coach Martin Steinhaus and Kapaa JV coach Kevin Devitt on a great game which determined the final outcome for JV.
Coach Martin said Ryan Banasihan scored the goal for their 1-0 win, and Coach Kevin said Kapaa had their chances, but missed the penalty kick (and some other chances). But well played games all around.
Paul Curtis said according to Maryanne Kusaka, there should be something happening at the Kauai Museum on every day leading to the Chinese New Year Luncheon on Feb. 20. Just got to go check it out.
Of course, this week is also Waimea Town Celebration and Chucky Boy Chock gets honored on Wednesday night along with Steve Kelly of the Cherry Cherry band (Neil Diamond fans, rejoice!). Steve Dougan said this year’s tour will have Geofery Castle joining the group (are they really doing “Tiny Bubbles” in honor of Don Ho, the first Ambassador of Aloha?).
OK, it’s a de facto holiday so all who are off — have a safe and wonderful day!
