Happy Valentine’s Day!
Having Valentine’s fall during the weekend almost always creates a stir of excitement as the Kauai Chamber of Commerce (kudos to Denise Roberts and her KQNG Radio ohana and Mark Perriello and the Chamber crew) got thing started early (Jim Guerber was photo-bombing, and Carol Manera Texeira was trying to figure out how to get to the KIF playoff basketball game).
Valentine’s also made for a busy week for Rev. Ryan Newman at the All Saints’ Episcopal Church who hosted its “Love is In the Air” Saturday market after decomissioning its historic pipe organ and Ash Wednesday.
Melanie Okamoto said it was good to have a live band, and Natural Harmony more than fit the bill as the group scheduled to perform for Aloha Friday entertainment at the Kukui Grove Center had the convention hall rocking for the Seniors Valentine’s party. Joan Kealalio had her Interact Club students from Kapaa High School helping out. Those students were also hopping as some of them did duty at the Zonta Club of Kauai’s Eat Dessert First (Janice Bond said the East Kauai Lions pancake breakfast is March 6).
Ok, it’s time to go check out Chef Martina Hilldorfer and the American Culinary Federation chefs and students at the annual breakfast.
