PUHI — The new Automated Teller Machine is clicking at the Kauai Community College Student Center.
“This took four years for it to happen,” said Lisa Murphy Allison of the Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union, while instructing Kauai Community College students and staff Thursday. “They had an ATM before, but it was taken out during the rebuilding of the student center.”
The new ATM is on the second floor of the Student Center.
“We’ll be having pizza and cake to celebrate,” said Allison, a community adviser to the college. “The students have been waiting for the ATM for this long, so a celebration is definitely in order.”
John Constantino, a KCC counselor, said there was an old ATM set up inside the Learning Resource Center, but that was taken out because of little use.
Napua Domenden, Associated Students of the University of Hawaii, Kauai Community College president, said students have been asking for an ATM.
The new ATM, installed with the help of the KGEFCU, will be available during the Student Center operating hours.
