Greg Gabaylo (how many of you remember him as the hypnotist at last year’s Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair?) was glad he stopped by to chat with Ron Wiley of The KQNG Radio Group Saturday.
Greg was here to do a private party and Ron sent him to the Makahiki Games at the Anne Knudsen Park where Koko Kaneali’i was tending to the pua‘a. Koko said he hasn’t seen Greg for nearly 40 years after they both were in karate and played music together. Greg said he spoke with Melissa McFerrin-Warrack and will be back for this year’s Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair as well.
Kudos to Julie Kanealii on a great job with the Makahiki Games! Katie Nalesere (ask her where she came from next time you see her) and Jean Souza were both on hand, as was Ambyr Mokiao-Lee (she’s gotta work hard since Galen Kawakami retired from the DLNR).
The big deal was having Puni Patrick (the next Kaumualii event is coming up, Feb. 14) and Thomas Nizo on hand who had free Waimea Town Celebration shirts to give away, and Julie said their next event is May Day by the Bay on May 14 at the Waioli Park in downtown Hanalei.
