KAPAA — Kauai Shores, an Aqua hotel, has finished an extensive renovation project and opened its newly built lobby and oceanfront restaurant, the Lava Lava Beach Club.
“This is the crowning glory to what has been a year-long project to transform Kauai Shores,” said Kauai Shores general manager Hilmy Dole. “We are excited to provide our guests with an incredible new way to take advantage of our oceanfront location in Kapaa, on Kauai’s Royal Coconut Coast, whether it be for a meal, a specialty cocktail, or for weddings and corporate events.”
Lava Lava Beach Club is a 250-seat open-air restaurant and bar with couches and fire pits, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with daily live music and hula dancing.
This is the second Lava Lava Beach Club in Hawaii and the first on Kauai. The original location, on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island, rose to acclaim for its beachfront setting, signature cocktails and innovative menu offerings.
Due to the east-facing coastline, sunrise breakfasts are another special offering, with more than nine variations of the Bloody Mary cocktail on the menu.
The renovation project also included updates to the guest rooms, corridors, common areas and exterior upgrades to the building and grounds, including a courtyard around the centerpiece pool.
“With Kauai Shores, we balanced the old with the new so that we could retain some of the original early Hawaiian character, while creating spaces that are lively, fun, and styled for modern vacationing,” said designer Kory Wong Oglesby.
The hotel is at 420 Papaloa Road, Kapaa.
