LIHUE — Excel Dance Studios hosted a car and bike show at the North Vidinha fields Saturday as a fundraiser to help get its Excel! Singapore All-Stars Team to the competition in China.
Comprised of eight girls and two boys, the team will be competing in a dance competition in Singapore in June, said Sherri Sanchez Holcomb, the Excel! Dance Studio owner. Following the competition, the group will also tour Cambodia, other parts of China, and Japan as a cultural education tour during its 17-day trip.
Dancers for the All-Star competition team were culled from the annual Excel! dance camp which will be held July 18-21 at the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue. The team performed some of its numbers as entertainment for the fundraiser which included a variety of automotive-related vendors, and a range of local entertainment and food.
