Kudos to Laurie Yoshida of Dupont Pioneer for having the Kauai High School Academy of Hospitality and Tourism as guests Tuesday during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Hawaiian Airlines luncheon meeting at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach. Those attending included Sydney Brady (her dad Chuck is totally pleased that Kalapaki Joe’s in Poipu is open, again!) and Railee Layosa (soccer on Thursday).
Carol Manera Texeira (she had a basketball game Tuesday night) said the luncheon was one of the larger events hosted by the Chamber and was sold out.
Mahalo to Bob Gunter and Jeanne Toulon of the Koloa Rum Company for the coffee rum samples (this is a 100 percent Kauai product!), and Todd Rodighiero (gotta spell it out so you don’t get the name messed up) got help from Lisa Murphy Allison of the Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union in setting out the samples (none for the high school kids, please).
Greg Askew of Ono Pops was thrilled because he got his health department clearance for the Ono Pops Hanamaulu kitchen just before leaving for the luncheon.
OK, go visit Seth, Paulette and Chef Baby Sloane Peterson at the Second Saturday in Lawai from 5 to 9 p.m.
