Mindy Hibbitt said Saturday, the day after Christmas, was busy. But despite the crazy busy (iPhone covers are breaking), she said the Christmas buzz is gone. Her big thing for the holidays was the return of kendama (the Rasta version of the Pill didn’t even make it to the shelves before everyone grabbed theirs).
Erika Kleinfeld (PINK is for Victoria’s Secret?) said the Pacific Fireworks shop (you can see it from Starbucks, she said) was busy when they opened Saturday next to the Bread and Deli Connection. Traffic was steady through the day and the Christmas buzz has now switched to the New Year’s buzz as Ric Ochoco (his son David is a pilot for Mokulele Airlines and now lives in Waimea on the Big Island where he can be dispatched to either Hilo or Kona) was one of the customers who made his first stop to pick up some of the new items brought in.
Kudos to Josh Pajela who was changing out the music to the Christmas trees (you gotta wait until next year for the light show) now that Christmas is done, and Santa’s Place is looking lonely now that we’re heading to the new year (gotta start getting used to writing “2016”).
