Sharon Lasker said Friday night marked the start of the third year the Regency at Puakea has hosted the Family Night BINGO games at the Kukui Grove Center. Once the calling started, Sharon said there were more than 150 cards being played in the food court area.
Friday night’s event benefited the Kauai Independent Food Bank and Kelvin Moniz (he said the BINGO night has great promotional value for the food bank) took advantage of the event to play a few rounds with Ron Wiley of KQNG Radio calling the event for two hours and not even having a hoarse voice. Judy Segawa was one of the early winners, getting a Kukui Grove gift card. Her neighbor, Dot Shaw, won the following game.
Fred Zollinger was gallery sitting at the Kauai Society of Artists’ “small works, Big Show” site and said he started welding when he was a little guy, even before getting into the wood. He said he has a small scene in wood of a dog confronting a boar that he almost entered in the show, but was afraid someone would walk off with it.
Whenever Mindy Hibbitt is manning the cell phone accessories kiosk, she gets busy repairing iPhones, and Friday was no exception with people waiting in line for repairs.
