The Kauai Humane Society recently received some early Christmas presents.
Toys, treats, kitty litter, pet food and beds were donated by Aloha Feed, Jerry Wilson Associates, Wailua dog park users, including Donna Pickard, and a couple visiting Kauai. The shelter is receiving calls about more donations coming in.
Maile Miyazaki, who donated a Kuranda Bed last year from her craft sale, is once again donating a large Kuranda Bed from funds she raised this year.
Jerry Wilson and Associates were on Kauai with a dozen pet supply companies for a conference and talked about their products. He didn’t want to ship all the pet supplies back home so he contacted Lisa Nakamasu from the Kauai Visitors Bureau.
She helped orchestrate donations to both Kauai Humane Society and Kauai Animal Welfare Society.
“We had a meeting with the dogs and they all agreed that the item on the list that was most important to them to donate would be toys, toys, toys,” Pickard wrote.
