Mariko Strickland Lum, an award-winning soccer player, will head up an all-Kauai girl coaching staff for the winter break soccer camp which will run Dec. 18 through 20 at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Sports Park at Lydgate Park. The
Mariko Strickland Lum, an award-winning soccer player, will head up an all-Kauai girl coaching staff for the winter break soccer camp which will run Dec. 18 through 20 at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Sports Park at Lydgate Park.
The camp is open to youth ages 7 through 16 years old and will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 19. The camp will meet from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 20.
Lum will be joined by Andrea Alfiler and Madison Moore in working with campers on footwork, plyometrics, agility, technical work, small-sided games, and a beach workout.
Camp will also cover college play, nutrition, and cross training.
Lum is a Women Professional Soccer League national champions, playing with Ajax, a California State University at Long Beach and San Diego State University all-conference first team midfielder, a youth national champion with the Colorado Rush, a three-time Region IV Olympic Development Team, and played with the Australian Under 21 National Team.
