Kauai Beer Co. has tables and chairs set up outside of its restaurant, along the sidewalk of Rice Street. Is this allowable?
The area where the tables and chairs are located are within the restaurant’s private property and do not impede on the public right of way.

Park on Kaumualii Highway
Is there a plan to have a playground and/or picnic tables at the park located between Kaumualii Highway and Welau Street in Puhi?
There are no plans for a playground to be built at this park; however, there are picnic benches. Those who want to use a playground are encouraged to visit the park just down the road off Nani Street, in the same subdivision.

Can a ‘No Dogs in Park’ sign be placed at this park? Parkgoers are violating this rule.
Yes, this sign is currently on order and will be posted at the park once it is received.

The roof of the bathroom appears to need repair. Are there plans to repair?
The Department of Parks and Recreation is aware of this and is currently in the design phase. Once complete the work will be bid out. Funding is in place to complete this project.
Wailua
Wailua Houselots Park
What is the status of the replacing of the lighting at the Wailua Houselots tennis courts?
This work is part of a current lighting retrofit contract, which also includes the tennis courts, basketball courts and skating rink at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex, as well as the Vidinha Stadium parking lot and baseball field.
Wailua Beach
Is there a plan to have a Porta Potty located on the north end of the beach, near the old Seashell restaurant?
Currently, there is no plan to have a Porta Potty in this area; however, there are portable facilities located on the south end of Wailua Beach.

Kanaele Road
Does the cemetery on Kanaele Road belong to the county? There is a leaking pipe in the cemetery.
DOPR was made aware of this break. A Work Order was generated and a Public Works crew has since completed repair.
Kapaa Beach Park
There was a report of a large hole left behind after the old cesspool was removed from the shoreline. Please investigate.
A Parks supervisor immediately responded to this complaint and found no hole or other hazard where the old cesspool was removed.

What are the requirements to request Paratransit service?
To be eligible for Paratransit service, an individual must be at least 60 years old or be registered for ADA service. Those interested and eligible need to submit an application to the Transportation Agency for review and approval. Applications can be found on the Transportation website, www.kauai.gov/transportation. Applications can also be mailed upon request. For assistance, please call the Transportation Agency at 246-8110.
