LIHUE — The Tire Warehouse gang of tire changers were garbed in pink, not the usual dark blue or gray, surprising Laurie Weber who bumped into the crew near the entrance.
“They’re doing the tire changing demonstrations,” said Katie Beer of Tire Warehouse. “They have their pink shirts on in celebration of Pink Sunday.”
The YWCA of Kauai hosted the third annual Pink Sunday women’s expo at the Kauai Veterans Center, offering free admission to the showcase of women and women entrepreneurs peppered with food trucks and hands-on activities for keiki, including a “make it and take it” project sponsored by The Home Depot.
Stage acts were anchored by performances from the Taiko Kauai group, KUGA dance studio, and two fashion shows featuring designs from women who were part of the Pink Sunday expo.
