Our review this week is a coloring book. A coloring book for adults!
“Wait a minute,” you might be thinking. “I thought coloring books were just for kids.”
Well, not anymore. Adult coloring books have become all the rage in this last year and a surprising number of grown-ups have been requesting them. So, what’s the appeal?
There has been a lot of field-test research that proves that coloring for adults helps to relieve anxiety, reduce stress and generally helps to relax and focus their minds onto something other than their daily lives by giving them a creative outlet which most adults stopped utilizing before they graduated elementary school. You were considered a baby if you liked to color past a certain age.
“Color Me Stress-Free,” by Lacy Mucklow and Angela Porter, changes all that. It’s time to say, “Yeah, baby! Be free!” This is a guided coloring book designed for adults to let out their creativity.
The book contains 79 different geometric designs, mandalas and intricate patterns that have been designed in a manner which will be appealing to nearly everyone. And specifically, “Color Me Stress-Free” has set up each chapter to work with whatever mood you may be in, each designed to help facilitate your eventual relaxation.
Best of all, you can make the rules, so create and color however you want. You can have it your way!
Of all the adult coloring books we carry, this one gets scooped up the quickest. So pick up this book, break out the crayons or colored pencils, get coloring and start unwinding.
