ANAHOLA — Koolau Hui’ia Church is offering free Thanksgiving devotionals.
“As part of our year long 150th anniversary celebration, our church is giving away devotionals to be used by our Hawaiian families and for the public at large,” says Kahu Rennie Mau, pastor.
The short devotional is written by church member Dr. Marie Leekley, a retired college professor who at one time taught Christian cducation at Kamehameha Schools.
The purpose is to help families frame their gatherings and to also have simple and nonthreatening ways of sharing with each other.
“We also put some short family activities to be done during the meal,” say Kahu Mau. “So, put away your cell phones for several hours — and enjoy being a family together and let us celebrate Thanksgiving as a family.”
