LIHUE — Break out the umbrella. A rainy, cloudy weekend is on tap.
“It’s going to be mostly cloudy with showers off and on through the weekend,” said Ian Morrison, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Honolulu.
Morrison predicted the Garden Isle could see between three and six inches of rain by Monday.
As of about 2:30 p.m., rain gauges across Kauai measured between two to four inches on Friday, Morrison said.
“You might see a little bit of a break later on Sunday into Monday where we’re expecting a majority of the clouds to move over the central islands, like Maui County,” he said. “But in general it will be cloudy and wet.”
