The Warriors improved on its 9-0 season by defeating Lahainaluna Saturday before a wildly cheering home crowd at Vidinha Stadium.
Kalena Harder, a Junior Varsity bring-up, pulled for a net gain of 98 yards, including three touchdowns, to lead the Kapaa win. The Warrior defense, led by Akauola Tatofi with eight unassisted tackles, held the Lunas to negative yardage on offense while Kapaa improved to scoring 250 points while allowing no scores since its second preseason game.
A victory at Aloha Stadium will bring the gold to Kauai for the first time since the HHSAA started keeping records in 1999.
