Taryn Moura, manager of Martin&MacArthur, took advantage of Art Walk Saturday to offer shoppers free sushi from The Dolphin, and some guava cake from Kauai Bakery. She said Martin&MacArthur celebrates its first anniversary at The Shops at Kukuiula on Nov. 28, but couldn’t wait that long to share the food.
She had Olivia Gegen playing the violin right outside the giveaway (Deborah Gia and Tom Niblick — he was photographing the Courtney King event at galerie 103 with a full-frame Leica), and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said the Art Walk coincided with November being Hawaii Fashion Month, complete with the opening of Cruise Kauai Wednesday, and Reyn Spooner on Saturday.
Meanwhile, kudos to Diane Nitta and the Kauai Interscholastic Federation ohana on hosting a great semifinal game (congrats to Coach Philip Rapozo and the Kapaa Warriors on the win!) at Vidinha Stadium (Nick Abramo got to chat with “off the record,” low-key Tommy Rita), and Hank Ibia said with the installation of the baseball field lights, KIF will be hosting Division II baseball championships in a couple of years.
